本课时语篇类型涉及日记,对话,由听力练习开始,讲述了一个叫Judy的大学生到偏远山区做志愿服务、担任支援教师的故事。学生通过完成听力选择和听力填空了解Judy所在山区的情况以及Judy的经历和感受。在Speak up模块,通过参考所给对话的范例,学生组织新对话讨论如何在日常生活中帮助他人。重点词汇主要涉及描述山区生活和个人经历等,如: south-west, north west, keep in touch, far away等,句式主要涉及在日常生活中如何帮助他人等。本课时旨在鼓励学生关心社会现实,培养志愿服务精神。
本课授课对象为八年级学生。基于前几个课时的学习,学生对于如何帮助他人有了很多语言知识的积累,可以较轻松地交流具体的做法,自如地表达自己的观点,但对于具体的志愿者项目内容或者志愿者活动本身的意义理解还不够深刻,对一些贫困地区孩子面对的具体困难也无感性认识,具体的切实的帮助方法并不熟悉。
本课在多种形式的语言训练活动中提升学生的综合语言语用能力。目标在层次上由浅人深,相互关联,符合学生的认知规律,以逐步提升学生的英语课程核心素养。目标1“从听力材料中获取有关Judy志愿者项目的信息,并定成相关选择和补全笔记”以贴近本课时内容的视频启动教学,学生通过听力技能的训练,培养了获取有效信息的能力。目标2从录音材料中提取和加工信息,进步了解Judy的志愿者工作的详情。目标3“与同伴谈论如何在日常生活中伸出援助之手,为有需要的人提供帮助”通过对话,讨论志愿者需要什么品质以及总结了很多帮助他人的途径,既发展了创新思维,又培养了社会责任感.将学习能力和文化意识得以融合。目标4“进一步形成尽自己所能帮助他人的意识”在各个环节中得以渗透体现。
不足之处:在导入环节选择了一段英文视频,视频字幕全部是大写字母,相对于小写字母的单词,学生对于大写字母不够敏感,需要反应一段时间才能体会到含义,尽管在看视频前对学生进行了相关引导,但仍有部分学生不知所云;在Step 2 A. Working in a mountain area讨论环节有个别组仅用一条donate money来概括如何帮助孩子们,要注意加强具体特殊性的引导和思维的拓展。
