  1. Teaching aims and learning objectives

    By the end of the lesson, students are expected to be able to

  1. grasp the key information and details by some listening skills;

  2. talk about TV viewing habits and understand advantages and disadvantages

    of watching TV;

  3. develop good TV viewing habits and keep a balance between their schoolwork

    and play.

  1. Encourage students to talk about various TV programmes and their own TV viewing habits.

  2. Teach students how to choose suitable TV programmes.

  1. Teaching procedures

    Step1. Lead-in

    Watch a video clip and answer some questions:

  1. Do you like this TV advertisement about Christmas?

  2. What will you do after watching it

     

    Step2. Speak up

  3. Listen to a conversation between Millie and Simon and answer some questions

  4. Does Millie think TV ads are interesting?

  5. Why does Millie think so?

  6. Does Simon agree with Millie? Why or why not?

    2. Review some types of TV programmes.

    3. Free talk

    (1) What type of TV programmes do you prefer?

    (2) What type of TV programmes do you dislike?

    (3) How much time do you spend watching TV every week?

    (Brainstorm some adjectives.)

    4. Make up a dialogue

    Step3. Pre-listening

  7. Read and predict

    Millie wants to interview three students about their TV viewing habits. Read the information in the table(Page87 partA1) and predict what is his/her favourite TV programme.

    Millie is interviewing the students. Listen carefully and help her complete the notes.(Page87 partA2)

    Millie is writing a draft report on the interviews. Help her complete it with the information on page 87.

教学反思

本节课选择9A Unit6 Integrated Skills,是一节听说课。第六单元的单元话题是电视节目TV Programmes, 但是对于00后来说,生活在互联网时代,接触到的更多的是网络信息或网络游戏,对于“看电视节目”并不是很感兴趣。

基于此学情,在课堂导入部分,我选择了来自John Lewis 的最新的圣诞广告,广告内容比较新颖,吸引了学生的注意力,让同学自由发表对于此广告的看法,也紧扣了本节课的Speak up部分,为引出该部分内容铺垫。

听前活动,以小组对话的形式带领学生复习电视节目类型以及让学生自己谈谈对于一些电视节目的喜好,但是在进行此活动时,学生的讨论并不是很热烈,也没有给学生充分的展示机会。听中活动,按部就班,按照书本排版推进,但是在听前给学生提供了两个听力小建议“听前预测”和“词汇速记”。课后活动,创设了一个语境,AnitaPhilipSam现如今改变了电视观看习惯,他们正面临一些问题,让学生小组合作,根据他们的问题给出改进建议。接着,让学生联系实际,谈谈面对中考,除了看电视还有哪些放松的方式。此项活动引起了学生的共鸣,效果较好。在课堂最后,向学生推荐了几步优秀的电视作品,A Bite of ChinaChinese Poetry CompetitionThe Reader,借此提高了本节课的育人价值。

总而言之,在师傅和同组老师的帮助下,本节课最终的课堂效果良好,但由于自身业务水平有限,对于本节课还有很大的改进空间。
