Teaching aims and learning objectives

By the end of this lesson, students are expected to:

1. understand clues about a crime;

2. find out which suspect is most likely to be guilty through reading the four notes.

Teaching procedures

Step 1. Lead-in

Task1: Mystery A (Low level): What happened to Eddie?

9AU8 Welcome to the unit校级公开课总结反思

本周在师父及组内老师的帮助和指导下，顺利完成了本节校级公开课。

本节公开课我以柯南侦探视频导入，帮助学生学习相关suspect、victim等生词。紧接着通过询问学生认识的侦探，勾起学生已有的知识，吸引学生注意力。在接下来的教学流程中，我按照学生想要成为一名侦探的愿望设置了一系列任务，目的在于告诉学生想要成为侦探需要具备很多能力。在第一个任务中，我首先让学生观看了Hobo和Eddie对话并回答问题。接着让学生完成role-play，熟悉detective的定义和定语从句。随后，通过Sun Town的谋杀案引起学生的注意，让学生通过文中的report完成表格，培养学生信息收集能力。其次通过学习speak-up的对话让学生明白如何根据细节推理凶手，最后通过已经掌握的四个嫌疑人的信息，与同伴编对话，表达自己的观点。

在本课的结尾部分，我回归到课堂开端，并提问“What qualities should a good detective have ?”，让学生思考侦探应具备的品质。其次，我也设置了“Sometimes there are crimes around us. What can we do?”引导学生在日常生活中遇到危险犯罪应该做出哪些正常反应。最后通过告诫学生“Justice has long arms.”，让学生远离犯罪行为，升华本课主题。

本节课我认为有以下不足：

1. 学生刚开始有些紧张，可以适当设置一些趣味性的活动，缓解他们的紧张心情，充分融入到课堂中。

2. 本单元单词较难，在平时生活中也很少用到，学生在单词学习部份有点吃力，应在课前夯实学生的单词基础，以便于更好地学习。

   总的来说本次公开课较为顺利，这离不开师傅一直以来对我的悉心指导和帮助，组内老师的意见和关心对我也非常有帮助，之后我会继续学习。
