8B Unit 8 Reading I

——Taicang Experimental Middle School Isle

Teaching aims :

  1. To learn the new words and phrases in the text.

  2. To learn about Switzerland and how people in Switzerland protect the environment.

  3. To cultivate Ss’ awareness of making our hometown Taicang green.

     

    Teaching procedures:

    Step 1: Lead in

  4. Watch a video

  5. Talk about Taicang

    Step 2: Pre-reading

    1. Teaching some new words by analyzing a question.

    Step 3: While-reading

    1. Watch a short video about Switzerland, and talk about the country.

    2. Fast reading: go through the text and find out the answers to the questions.

    3. Pair work: discuss with partners and match the main ideas of the paragraphs.

    4. Use the mind map to help Ss understand the text.

    A:Read Para 2 after the tape and talk about recycling.

    B: Read Para 3 and fill in the blanks.

    C:Listen to Para 4-5 and choose the right answers.

    Then read Para 4 and complete the table.

    5.Read the whole text by following the tape.

    Step 4: Post-reading

    1.Try to retell according to the pictures and key words.

    2.Have an interview: work in pairs and make up dialogues.

    3.Group work: give a speech

    Offer the mayor some advice on how to live a green life in Taicang.

    4.Summarize the useful ways to build Green Taicang.

    Step 5: Homework

    1.Read the article frequently.

    2.Try to talk about Green Switzerland by using own words.

    3.Make a poster to ask for more support to protect our hometown.

本次教学设计以 “环保” 为主线,融合语言学习与实践应用,整体达成度较高,但仍有优化空间。

 

亮点方面

 

  1. 情境串联紧密:通过 Taicang 本土视频引入,结合瑞士环保案例,引导学生从 “认知” 到 “行动”,体现 “从生活中来,到生活中去” 的理念。

  2. 任务层次清晰:从词汇预判、段落精读至思维导图构建,逐步培养阅读策略;小组讨论、角色扮演等活动激发参与热情,尤其 “给市长提建议” 环节,将语言运用与社会责任结合,强化实践能力。

     

    改进方向

     

  3. 差异化教学不足:对基础薄弱学生的分层任务设计不够细化,如复述环节可提供更多图文提示。

  4. 评价维度单一:小组合作中缺乏明确的互评标准,后续可引入 “环保创意评分表”,从语言准确性、建议可行性等维度多元评价。

  5. 情感升华深度:总结环节可增加 “Taicang 环保大事记” 数据对比,增强学生对家乡环境变化的直观感受,进一步深化环保使命感。

     

    总结:本次教学基本实现语言目标与育人价值的融合,未来需更关注个体差异与评价机制,让 “绿色教育” 真正落地生根。
