Step 1. Pre-reading
Enjoy Li Ziqi’s story.
1. Watch a video. Ask and answer questions.
2. Learn new words by reading the story of Li Ziqi.
3. Practise by completing the story.
Step 2. While-reading
Appreciate Andrew’s DIY story.
Learn about main ideas and the structure of the article.
2. Appreciate Andrew’s DIY story.
(1) Read Para.1 and do T or F questions.
(2) Read Para.2. and fill in the table.
(3) Read Para.3. Work in pairs and make up dialogues.
(4) Read Para.4 and retell the story.
(5) Read Para 5 and tell who did these things.
(6) Think of other advice to help Andrew.
Step 3. Post-reading
Share students’ own opinions.
Discuss in groups and express students’ ideas.
Do you think it is easy to do DIY jobs? Why do you think so?
If we want to be good at DIY like Li Ziqi, what do we need to do?
Li Ziqi is good at DIY while Andrew doesn’t do well in it. However, both of
them like DIY. Why are so many people crazy about DIY?

教学反思：在本课教学设计中，引入了李子柒的故事，并且和Andrew的故事相呼应，学生通过故事的学习掌握新的词汇，理清文章结构和脉络，在实践应用中掌握知识，最后的讨论环节围绕两个故事展开，前后呼应，学生能更深入的理解DIY的意义所在，学会从不同角度看待人和事。如果能分享自己的DIY小故事就更好了。
