Teaching plan

Chen Minyi  Taicang Experimental Middle School

Teaching aims:

By the end of the lesson, students are expected to:

  1. get some information about Zhalong, the special wetland;

  2. cultivate students reading learning skills and thinking ability in reading;

  3. get students involved in protecting wetlands.

    Teaching emphasis:

    To cultivate students overall reading ability and thinking ability.

    Teaching procedures:

    Step 1. Lead in

  4. Lead in the topic through 4 pictures and ask students to describe their feelings.

  5. Watch the video and enjoy the song Welcome to Zhalong.

  6. Ask some questions to lead in Zhalong.  

    What can you see in Zhalong?

    What kind of birds are they?

    Step2. Pre-reading

1. Read a letter from cranes and pay attention to the underlined words.

2. Discuss in groups and match the meaning with each word.

Step3. While-reading

  1. Predict the title.

  2. Skim the article and prove the previous predicting.

  3. Skim to get the main idea of each paragraph.

  4. Play a game called Thinking bee to cultivate Students reading skills and thinking ability.

Step4. Post-reading

Ask Students to make a dialogue to introduce the wetland, the birds, the problems etc. in order to get more people involved in protecting wetlands.

Step5. Homework

1. Continue to retell the passage with key words after class to understand the passage better.

2. Search for more information about Zhalong, especially the ways to protect the birds living there.

公开课反思

本节课是8A单元的第课时Reading 1,课型是阅读课,整体内容难度适中,鼓励学生通过本课学习,及时运用所学的相关词汇,对于扎龙自然保护区及保护湿地与鹤的相关话题,进行阅读和讨论,进而提高环境保护意识。由于本节课关于自然环境与鸟类的保护,容易被学生理解学生比较感兴趣,所以文本解读比较透彻,整体完成度较高,教学环节推进很顺利。

听课的老教师们对我的这节课进行了点评,使我受益匪浅,我不仅获得了不少的经验以及教学方法,而且还了解到了自己的不足之处。现反思如下:

1.本课词汇量很大,接近30个,所以在阅读前对新词汇的复习很有必要,本节课我把这一环节放在Pre-reading部分,让学生先复习单词,再进行阅读,但是只复习了部分单词,可以设置更全面的单词复习

2. 师生互动、生生互动方面整体做的不错,但师生互动方面我觉得在评价反馈环节可以再进行改进,今后还要注重引导学生和学生对话从而真正的学以致用。
